Minecraft. The game’s own actions — build, mine, craft, explore, collect, survive, respawn, trade, farm, plant, fight, run, jump — plus day, night, safe, health, hungry, brave, strong, a few feelings and the words that start a conversation: I built, I found, let’s play, watch me, help.
Characters. Steve, Alex, villager, iron golem, wolf, cat, parrot, horse, pig, cow, sheep, chicken, bee, axolotl, fox, panda, friend, trade, farm, eat, help, love, happy, sad, I found, let’s play.

What’s included
- Characters, mobs, realms and items on boards of their own, each picture drawn in the game’s blocky style so a child knows it at a glance
- A Feelings board, and the words for sharing a build, a find or a turn
- Six linked boards on the WordPower 108 grid, with the WordPower 108 core words in their usual places on every board
- Around 190 words, laid out in color blocks by word type
- Every navigation button carries a picture, not just a word
Why themed boards work
A child who plays Minecraft has a great deal to say and needs the game’s own words to say it. Characters holds Steve, Alex, the villager, the iron golem and the animals who travel with a player. Mobs holds the Creeper, the Enderman, the Ender Dragon and everything else that shows up at night. Realms takes a child from the Overworld to the Nether and the End, and into villages, caves and mineshafts. Items is the inventory, from the diamond sword to the elytra.
The board that makes it a way to talk, not just a picture list, is Feelings: scared when the Creeper hisses, proud after finishing a build, frustrated when the game is over, next to I built, I found, watch me, my turn and let’s play.
Motivation drives AAC use. A child handed a board full of clinical vocabulary has little reason to reach for it; a child who can talk about what they already care about has every reason. Themed boards are not a replacement for a robust core-word system — they sit alongside it. More on core words and themed boards.
How to install
- Download the file above and unzip it.
- Open our installation guide — note that TouchChat’s built-in vocabularies are locked, so you make an editable copy first.
- Import the pages into your TouchChat vocabulary.
- Place a page-link button somewhere reachable during a conversation.
- Customize — add the words your communicator actually uses.
Before you import
- TouchChat exports do not carry over “Alternate Pronunciation” settings. If a word is spoken oddly, adjust the spelling on the device after importing.
- This pack is for WordPower 108. It will not fit a WordPower 60 or smaller vocabulary.
