Contact

Yak Back Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds free AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) templates for nonverbal and speech-limited people. If you have a question, a problem, or an idea, we want to hear it.

Email us

The fastest way to reach us is email: info@yakback.org. One family runs this foundation alongside a small group of volunteers and collaborating therapists, so a person — not a ticketing system — reads what you send.

Please tell us which app you use (TouchChat or Proloquo2Go) and which grid size, if your question is about a specific template. It saves a round trip and gets you a useful answer the first time.

Ask us to build a template

We take requests, and we build them. If the person you support loves something we have not covered — a show, a team, a place, a hobby, a holiday — ask. Requests from families are where most of our library comes from.

Report a problem with a template

A button with the wrong picture or the wrong words is a word someone cannot use, so we treat template errors as urgent. Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it and re-publish the file.

Help installing a template

Every template downloads as a file you import into your AAC app. The first install usually takes about five minutes, and our installation page walks through it with a video. If you get stuck, email us and say where it stopped working.

Volunteer, partner, or collaborate

We work with speech-language pathologists, teachers, artists, developers, and parents. If you want to help build templates, test them with real users, translate materials, or bring Yak Back to your clinic or school district, get in touch.

Support the work

Every template in our library is free to download, with no account and no cost, and it stays free. Donations pay for AAC development, therapy support, and advocacy — they are what keeps the library free.
