New free TouchChat template: Learning Burger

One TouchChat board for WordPower 48, made to go with a toy stacking hamburger: every piece of the burger, the shapes and colors it teaches, how each piece feels, and the words for stacking, spinning and taking turns.
A stacking burger toy is played with the hands first. A child puts each layer on the pole, watches it spin down, takes it off again, and pops the shapes out of the middle. So the top row is the play itself: put on, take off, stack, spin, push, throw and help.
The second row is every piece in the order it stacks: bun, burger, cheese, tomato, onion, pickle and lettuce. Under it are the five pop-out shapes, then the colors, so a child can say red circle or yellow cheese without leaving the board.
The toy is also about touch, so bumpy, wavy and fuzzy each have a button, next to the colors. The bottom row carries the words that keep a play session going: more, my turn, your turn, yummy and all done.
What’s on the boards
- Learning Burger — Put on, take off, stack, spin, push, throw, help; bun, burger, cheese, tomato, onion, pickle and lettuce; circle, square, triangle, heart and star; red, orange, yellow, green, brown and white; bumpy, wavy and fuzzy; more, my turn, your turn, yummy and all done.
It is built for WordPower 48 on TouchChat. That is the one thing worth checking before you download: a page laid out for one grid size will not fit another. In TouchChat you can see which vocabulary is in use under Menu → Vocab → Choose Vocab.
It is free, like everything in our library. Get the Learning Burger template for TouchChat — or browse the whole free library.
