🌌 Finding Your Voice in a Galaxy Far, Far Away: Our Star Wars AAC Template

At Yak Back Foundation, every template we design has one goal: to help nonverbal individuals share in the conversations and culture that light up their lives.

For many families, Star Wars is more than a movie saga — it’s a galaxy of adventure, hope, and timeless storytelling. But for nonverbal kids and adults using AAC, these rich worlds can feel just out of reach. They might be able to say “movie” or “space,” but not “Luke Skywalker,” “lightsaber,” “Darth Vader,” or even “The Force.”

That’s why we created the Star Wars TouchChat 60 Grid AAC template.

🧩 What’s Inside

These pages are packed with vocabulary from across the Star Wars universe — including:

  • Beloved heroes like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Iconic villains like Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Emperor Palpatine, and Darth Maul
  • Fan-favorite droids and creatures such as R2-D2 and Chewbacca
  • Legendary ships and symbols: the Millennium Falcon, The Resistance, and The Dark Side
  • Trilogy-specific boards for Original, Prequel, and Sequel eras

It also connects with core vocabulary so kids can build full thoughts and conversations like:

“I like Rey.”
“Favorite character Darth Vader.”
“Thoughts about The Force.”
“I don’t like The Dark Side.”

🌟 Why It Matters

For a child like Ellie (our inspiration), these boards are more than buttons — they’re bridges to belonging. When a child can say who their favorite Jedi is, argue about which trilogy they love most, or shout “May the Force be with you,” they’re not just labeling words. They’re participating. Laughing. Belonging.

And when they belong, their voice shines brighter than any lightsaber.

🌐 Try It Yourself

This Star Wars AAC template is now available on our website. Whether your loved one is obsessed with lightsabers, droids, or epic battles between the Dark Side and the Resistance, this board opens new doors for communication and connection.

At Yak Back, we believe every child deserves the chance to talk about what they love — not just what’s on a school worksheet. Because a voice for everybody means a voice for every galaxy, every saga, every Force-filled story.
