New free TouchChat template: Bluey

The Bluey AAC home board on a TouchChat device: Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli, Muffin and Socks, Keepy Uppy, and everyday words like hooray, play, pretend and tickle, with buttons for Friends, Let's Play, Feelings, Aussie Words and At Home
The Bluey home board. Core vocabulary stays where your child already knows it; the red buttons open the other five boards.

Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli and twenty-one more of the Heelers’ family and friends by name, a board of the games they play, a board of the show’s own Australian words, and the feelings and at-home words of a Bluey day — six boards, built for TouchChat WordPower 60.

Bluey is a show about play, and it is told in Australian English. So the words on these boards are the words your child hears on screen: Mum, not Mom; brekkie, arvo, barbie and footy; and the lines every Bluey fan repeats, Cheese and crackers!, Oh biscuits!, hooroo and righto. A child who loves the show wants to say it the way Bluey does. The Let’s Play board holds the games themselves — Keepy Uppy, Magic Xylophone, freeze — beside the verbs any game needs.

What’s on the boards

  • Bluey — The home board — Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli, Muffin and Socks, then Keepy Uppy, dog and ball; Hooray!, hello, thank you, love, okay, my turn and together; play, pretend, run, jump, dance, laugh, hide, look, help and tickle; cute, silly, happy, big, little and loud.
  • Friends — Uncle Stripe, Aunty Trixie, Nana, Grandad, Uncle Rad, Lucky, Judo, Chloe, Mackenzie, Rusty, Indy, Coco, Snickers, Honey, Winton, Calypso, Jack, Lila and Pom Pom, beside Mum, Dad, brother, sister, baby, friend and teacher, with hug, share, talk and listen.
  • Let’s Play — Keepy Uppy, Magic Xylophone, freeze and catch; play, pretend, hide, find, climb, kick, throw, jump, dance, run, count, win, build, dress up, cook and stop; ready and slow; ball, bike, swing, slide, pool, sandpit and shop; doctor, my turn, your turn, wait and okay.
  • Feelings — Happy, sad, mad, frustrated, excited, scared, brave, shy, proud, jealous, tired, worried, nervous, surprised, sorry, love and hug, then it was an accident and that’s not fair; strong, hurt, sick, hungry, thirsty, cold, warm, quiet, loud, boring and full; help, wait and stop.
  • Aussie Words — Cheese and crackers!, Oh biscuits!, G’day, hooroo, mate, no worries, righto and I reckon; heaps; brekkie, arvo, barbie, footy, thongs, sunnies, lollies, hot chips, jumper, rubbish, telly, brolly and cuppa; kangaroo, koala and Mum.
  • At Home — Mum and Dad; eat, drink, sleep, wake up, wash, brush, cook, make, read, draw, paint and help; messy, hot, cold and quiet; bath, dinner, lunch, snack, bed, pillow, blanket, toilet, couch, telly, pyjamas, clothes, shoes, hat, backyard and night.

It is built for WordPower 60 on TouchChat. That is the one thing worth checking before you download: a page laid out for one grid size will not fit another. In TouchChat you can see which vocabulary is in use under Menu → Vocab → Choose Vocab.

It is free, like everything in our library. Get the Bluey template for TouchChat — or browse the whole free library.
